May 16, 2017

Here's just a choice selection of top tips to chill out!

1. Time Out.

Yes. Nothing beats making sure there is time everyday to chill and relax. Have a bath, enjoy some yoga, just lye back and listen to some relaxing music. Go for a walk with nowhere to go and no phone. Or go sit on the beach. and just watch the waves.

Take time out for yourself everyday to reset, recharge, ground out and give yourself some space.

2. Cut out Stims.

If you are feeling stressed, wired and worried it would be wise not to add fuel to the fire. Switch to de-caf coffee and tea. Swap chocolate for dried dates and apricots.  Cut out sugar and avoid MSG & artificial sweeteners. Reduce or better still quit smoking and watch the alcohol too.

You might benefit from a Facebook and News fast too!

3. Supplements.

One of the biggest helps for your nervous system by far is taking high strength Vitamin B Complex. A supplement will ensure you get all your body needs. You might also consider taking soothing medicinal herbs like Valerian, Skullcap and Hops. Combined with Lemonbalm, to create a highly effective calming of the nerves and helping you get a good nights sleep.

Amino Acids can be excellent. Check out GABA & L-Theanine. Tissue salts, Essential Oils and Bach Flower remedies are also worth a look.

4. Meditation.

Some sort of mind training will help you to take control. The single most effective, long term way to rid yourself of all that tension and fear is to practice some kind of meditation. You don’t have to be spiritual to do it. There are plenty of ways to learn. Sign up to a course or find a teacher. Meditation will change your life.

Yoga Nidra is an excellent guided meditation practice. Just play one of the many to be found on You Tube and float away as you experience deep relaxation.

5. Hug a tree.

Whilst a park will do, getting yourself off into real nature regularly is a great way to unwind and de- stress. Nature is the perfect antidote to our busy lives. Encouraging us to take a deep breath, get grounded and let all those troubles and worries drain away. And nature is a great teacher. reminding us to go with the flow and appreciate the magic and majesty of the natural world that we are a part of.
